The industry was to be contented with a humble crushing of 25,000 M.T. from about 3070 acres of cane crop in the 1st year of its economic run and went on straggling to being about stabilization in cane procurement till 1973-74 by maintaining its existence in anticipation of colorful days to come. The sugarcane coverage at present is extended over 15,000 acres confining to 15 Blocks (of Ganjam District) around the factory which caters to a cane feeding of 3.75 lakh MTs of cane.
